Die Wanderung erfolgt auf einem gut markierten Weg mit den bekannten T-Zeichen, und es ist wichtig, während der Wanderung auf dem Weg zu bleiben. Sie starten auf einer Höhe von knapp über 1000 Metern über dem Meeresspiegel und steigen zunächst einen Hang mit leichter Steigung auf rund 1200 Meter hinauf. Anschließend halten Sie die Höhe eine ganze Weile und genießen eine schöne Aussicht auf das Stemmerdalen und später auf das Aurlandstal. Die Wanderung endet mit einem Abstieg nach Østerbø, das etwa 800 Meter über dem Meeresspiegel liegt. Für die norwegischen Berge sind geeignetes Schuhwerk und Kleidung erforderlich (siehe unten). Die Wanderung beginnt in Østerbø, von wo aus Sie zwischen zwei alternativen Touren wählen können: Bei der ersten Tour geht es zunächst ein kurzes Stück bergauf und dann steil den Bjørnstigen hinunter. Diese Wanderung ist zwar etwas anspruchsvoller, aber Sie werden dafür mit spektakulären Ausblicken belohnt. Bei der zweiten Tour verbleiben Sie im Tal und wandern am Fluss entlang. Auch hier erwartet Sie eine fantastische Wanderung in wunderschöner Umgebung, umgeben von hohen Bergen und atemberaubenden Ausblicken. Von und nach Flåm werden Sie in einem Kleinbus bis zur Hütte transportiert. Die Straße führt durch steiles, aber schönes Gelände mit fantastischen Aussichten und dauert etwa 1 Stunde. Hun er en stor vofs av rasen Rhodesian Ridgeback og er så bedagelig anlagt at hun sjeldent gidder å bjeffe eller kave seg opp. Om hun gir lyd fra seg er det som regel fordi hennes majestet vil ha madrassene sine flyttet nærmere peisen må vite.. Steinbergdalshytta ligger i Nordfjella sone 1, et gammelt villreinområde, men i 2016 ble det oppdaget noen reinsdyr med skrantesjuke (CWD). Av den grunn ble det besluttet å sanere hele villreinstammen her. Planen er å reetablere stammen innen få år. På turen får du se nærmere på et gammelt fangstminne fra den tiden villreinen var tallrik her. Da kan du få være med ut for å trekke garn eller sette garn i ett av flere ørretvann i nærheten. Det er godt ørretfiske i de fleste vannene i området rundt Steinbergdalshytta. Siden vi er på statsallmenning, er det Aurland Fjellstyre som har ansvaret for å pleie fisken her, og de gjør en strålende jobb. Med fiskekort kan du fiske både med stang og med garn i flere vann. Steinbergdalshytta fisker med garn med et mål om å kunne tilby fjellørret på menyen både til lunsj og til middag. Du kan bli med å sette og / eller trekke garn. Avhengig av hvilket vann vi fisker i bruker vi noen ganger robåt med påhengsmotor, andre ganger uten, og er det litt vind blir det en også god treningsøkt. In 2017 they discovered Chronic Wasting Desease (CWD) in some of the animals shot during the annual hunt. CWD is a prion illness, and the authorities made the dramatic decicion to kill every reindeer in Nordfjella. The plan is in a couple of years from now to re-introduce healthy animals from the Hardangervidda national park to Nordfjella, so it will hopefully again be an area where reindeer will thrive. On this hike, you’ll see remains in the terrain from reindeer hunting, hear stories and myths of reindeer from old, and learn about the current situation when reindeer is actually red listed as an endangered species, and what can be done to save it. Then you can join us to one of the nearby lakes to set or to pull the fishing nets. There is plenty of trout in the lakes. The land is state owned and the local mountain board does an excellent job in caring for the fish. With a licence (fiskekort) you can fish both with a fishing rod and in some lakes with nets. At Steinbergdalshytta we fish with the goal of providing our kitchen with fresh mountain trout, and you can join us! Depending on which lake we go fishing, we use a rowing boat with motor, sometimes without, so it’s also good exercise.
